Ananta Naga or Aadi Sheshu is the thousand-headed serpent that gives Lord Vishnu shade and is his heavenly ride in Hindu Mythology. Ananta is able to live forever. Ananta actually has one head but has a mind equal to a thousand heads so to avoid confusion people say it has a thousand heads.
