Brisingr is the third book of the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini. The first two books were Eragon and Eldest. Brisingr is due to be released September 20, 2008. The Inheritance Cycle was originally supposed to be a trilogy but on October 30, 2007 Paolini announced that since Brisingr turned out to be bigger than he expected he would split the book in two so the Trilogy became a Cycle. Paolini announced that Brisingr would be longer than both Eragon and Eldest. The title of the book, Brisingr, means fire in the ancient-language and is the first word that Eragon learns from this language. The cover of the book is the dragon Glaedr. The art was done by John Jude Palencar.
