Either a book series by George R R Martin or the television series based on these books released by HBO (Game of Thrones). The story is set on two continents, Westeros and Essos, with supplementary books and legends taking place on Sothoryos. Dragons are a key part of the story, used by members of House Targaryen to take over the world, before being bred into extinction. The saga of Game of Thrones takes place when three dragon eggs hatch, bringing the dragons back from extinction.
