- "Precious few sightings of this elder dragon have been recorded, leading to claims it can vanish into its environment like a chameleon -- hence its name. Witnesses report that it can spew a fog-like breath, which seems to come out of nowhere."
- ―Hunter's Notes
Chameleos is a species of Elder Dragon seen in various Monster Hunter video games.
Appearance[]
Chameleos is an amalgamation of several creatures. It's main body and large flattened tail resemble a Gecko. It's head features a hood, a single horn, and eyes resembling a chameleon. It also features wings and set of long fangs like a dragon. It's hide is smooth and purple/pink, often selling for a high price on markets for clothing and armor alike.
Habitat[]
Chameleos prefer forests and similar areas to live, where they can hide better. They are not overly destructive compared to other Elder Dragons, and as such prefer to avoid asserting themselves as the top predator and live in the shadows.
Abilities[]
Chameleos feature a number of unique tricks. The dragons can utilize their surprising speed and ability to climb on walls to chase down prey. They then can use either their long whip-like tongues to attack, or use their poison breath in the form of spit attack or a potent jet of poison mist. When threatened, Chameleos will use an electric current to turn their bodies invisible.
Weaknesses[]
Chameleos are very vulnerable to fire and heat. Additionally, damaging the horn will prevent the dragon from becoming completely invisible.
