Darkeater Midir is an optional boss that appears in the Dark Souls 3 DLC: The Ringed City.
Appearance[]
Midir is a very large dragon. His body is gray and uneven, covered in dark colored crystals in many areas. His four wings are in tatters, but still largely functional. His head is wide and powerfully built, with numerous sharp teeth.
History[]
Midir is said to be a descendant of the Archdragons that used to rule the world, and may even be one himself. He was raised by the Gods to fight against the forces of the Abyss, and has continued to do so long after the Gods passed. The immortal Midir has battled the Dark since time out of mind, but countless years of doing so have eventually corrupted him with the Dark as well. As a result, the Ashen One is asked by a knight from the Ringed City to slay Midir before he's completely consumed. Whether Midir is defeated is the Ashen One's choice.
Abilities[]
Midir is a deadly and surprisingly fast adversary, and is capable of flight as well. Typical melee attacks consist of swiping with his claws or attempting to bite foes. When in need of ranged attacks, Midir can utilize potent streams of fire like most dragons. However, his corruption lets him use Abyssal Magic, in the form of a deadly dark beam, swarms of ghost-like Affinity projectiles, and a powerful darkburst.
Weaknesses[]
As a true dragon, Midir is weak to lightning attacks. His corruption also means that the Farron Greatsword and Wolf Knight's Greatsword will do increased damage to him as well. His large health pool also makes the spell known as Pestilence Mist highly effective on him, as the attack drains HP by percentage.
