Foreverwing

This giant Mystery class dragon from 'How To Train Your Dragon - Rise of Berk' and the graphic novel 'The Serpent's Heir' breathes out lava in the novel, acid in the game.

And even more incredible - it carries a forest on its back.

It lives forever with a forest so it is well camouflaged. They blend in extrenly well. Sleeping for long periods with the aid of a sedative. These giants sleep so long and blend in so well that villages can live around and on them for generations, without knowing the great beast(s) is there. Till it finally awakens and rises from the mountain. The sedative leeches into air and water around the foreverwing, sedating those nearby. In Rise of Berk the Foreverwing can cause plants to grow, an ability not shown in the novel.

Appearances[]

In 'the Serpent's Heir' right after the end of the events of How to Train your Dragon 2 Caldur, the second in command of Nepenthe comes to Berk seeking assistance with quakes plaguing the island that may be dragon related. On arrival Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, the twins, Eret and Valka find a laid back king Mik, an island falling apart and no dragons other than the ones they brought. After searches yield nothing Hiccup wants to leave but several others in his party vote to stay for dinner. Only to sedated by the 'hot springs' they bathed in earlier and betrayed by Caldur. The humans are captured and Caldur is revealed to be a madman, who believes he is a dragon trapped in the weak flesh of a human. He steals Inferno and plans to take Toothless's wings for himself. The riders manage to escape the prison and take to the sky, but just as they are ready to leave the cause of the quakes is revealed the ring of hills on the island are actually 6 Foreverwings who are waking up. The Riders spring into action to protect the villagers and deal with the agitated giant dragons. Toothless then puts on the alpha display he had during the final battle with Drago's bewilderbeast and gains control of the six Foreverwings, sending them on their way. Caldur then attacks Hiccup, who tries to reason with him one more time, then when Caldur still doesn't listen does what he must and uses a cartridge of Zippleback gas to end Caldur's threat for good. Hiccup then Helps King Mik be a leader and work to help his people as they restore their damaged village and the air clears of the Foreverwing sedative that kept Nepenthe so laid back.
