GummiWyrms

Didi and Denize, a child and adult "Gummi Wyrm"

The name of this species is conjectural and has not been confirmed as official by its creators.

Gummi Wyrms are a race of tall, snakelike eastern dragons who live in the world of the 2012 match-3 game Candy Crush Saga.

Biology and appearance[]

Gummi Wyrms are born resembling lizards, with several spikes studding their spines. However, they eventually grow into long, snakelike eastern dragons as adults, with more spikes studding their slim, elongated torsos. They also have somewhat short limbs, with thin arms and thick legs, which cause them to adopt a bipedal, human gait and stance. Their head mostly comprises long, jagged crocodilian jaws, with presumably numerous small teeth inside. Like oriental dragons, they have long barbels hanging from the front of their upper jaw, with a large nose on top.

A fully grown Gummi Wyrm is surmised to stand 20 feet tall, taller than a reticulated giraffe, while also stretching out to over 35 feet long from snout to tail, longer than a reticulated python. They can also weigh about 700 pounds on an empty stomach, with much of the weight thought to be distributed towards their sturdy legs, intricate intestines and robust hips.

Gummi Wyrms have pink, gelatinous scaly skin with a texture that is apparently consistent of that of the Swedish Fish candy. As their kind is a hybrid between a lizard and a snake, their ecdysis sequence is a mix between that of the two species, in which their skin peels smoothly along the serpentine portions of their bodies, while fragmenting into smaller pieces on and near their limbs.[1] They are also amphibious, frequently spending time swimming in large bodies of water or liquid. Like other dragons, they can also breathe fire, although this ability can reportedly be suppressed by excessive consumption of fizzy beverages like lemonade.

Gummi Wyrms also enjoy eating zongzi and certain candy. They are oviparous, laying eggs that have a chocolatey texture. They also are known to possess unusually long lifespans lasting centuries.

Society and culture[]

Gummi Wyrms are anthropomorphic and exhibit human behavior and demeanor. Despite this, a clan of Viking-like pillagers have used their beastly appearance as inspiration for the design of their boats.

Name origin[]

The name "Gummi Wyrm" was determined for this species following a 2023 update to Candy Crush Saga that changed ingredients to Gummi Dragons. As Gummi Dragons are officially stated by the game's community team to be the various other children of Denize in the King.com game forum,[2] this also entails that Denize and Didi themselves are associated with gummies. As Denize is a serpentine dragon, which is also called a "wyrm", and that she is also a gummi dragon, it is plausible to call her species a "gummi wyrm", which is also a parody of the popular candy treat known as "gummi worms", in line with the game's candy theme. However clever this name is, it is by no means official or confirmed by the game's story team.

In the summer of 2025, Candy Crush Saga announced that the Gummi Dragons would be renamed to Sprinks,[3] entailing that they are a different species of dragon than that of Denize. Despite this, the unofficial fan name of her species remains proposed.
