NightWings, known as night dragons to scavengers, are a Pyrrhian dragon tribe who currently resides in the Rainforest Kingdom, a tropical rainforest in the lower southeast of Pyrrhia. They are currently ruled by Queen Glory.
The NightWing tribe previously lived on the Talon Peninsula, also known as the lost city of night, or the old Night Kingdom. After Darkstalker murdered Prince Arctic, the NightWings moved to the NightWing island off the northern coast of the Sky Kingdom and remained there until the NightWing Exodus. They were secretly allied with Blister towards the end of the War of SandWing Succession.
Description[]
NightWings are based on monitor lizards. They have been described to have forked, pitch-black tongues, as well as dark scales which are usually black or in shades of dark green, blue, or purple. They also have silver, white, gray, purple, dark green, or blue underbellies, and dapples of silver scales running along their necks. Their wings have silver scales scattered across them like the stars of a night sky, forming different patterns. These patterns are genetic. NightWings have been described with black, dark blue, dark brown, purple, or dark green eyes. They have straight horns.
NightWings can melt into shadows and blend into the night sky due to their colors and wing patterns. Mind readers have silver teardrop scales by the corners of their eyes.
Abilities[]
NightWings are nocturnal and can beathe fire. They can gain powers from full moons depending on the type and amount. One full moon grants mind-reading and prophecy-receiving powers. Two full moons grants both. Three moons increase the power. The powers can vary in strength from the amount or type of moon light received. Weak moonlight either caused by placement or obstructions grant weaker powers such as mind-reading in Fatespeaker's case. While full blood moons can allow mind-readers to project their thoughts.

Legends Arc[]
During the times of Darkstalker, NightWings appeared to be a wealthy tribe. The queen planned on making an alliance between the IceWings and NightWings, sending off Prudence, bringing along her daughter Clearsight due to a prediction, Discretion and Starclaws. However due to Clearsight and Arctic eventually falling in love, a NightWing-IceWing War began. This was due to the fact that Arctic, being an animus, brought the animus magic genes over to the NightWings. This left the IceWings, specifically Queen DIamond, to assume they'll no longer have animus genes in the future.
As Darkstalker hatched and began to cause problem, the relationship between the two tribes became worse before eventually Darkstalker would publicly kill Arctic. This eventually lead to the sealing of Darkstalker and the First Exodus of NightWings.
Arc 1[]
Eventually the NightWings would be forced to live on a small island with a low prey population and an active volcano which eventually, sometime during the War of SandWing Succession, would break half of the fortress.
This prompted Queen Battlewinner and Morrowseer to make up a prophecy that forced the princess they picked, Blister, to give them RainWing land after they helped her win the war. This plan failed however as the Dragonets of Destiny were released early, Glory, a former RainWing captive, rose to the queen position and declared an invasion of the island, and eventually the volcano erupting during the event.
The NightWings after the eruption were forced to live in the Rainforest away from the RainWings in the NightWing Village.
