Dragons

Razer is a male dragon who first appears in Dragonshy. He is unnamed in the show, simply addressed as "Mr. Dragon" by Twilight Sparkle in Dragonshy, trademarked as "Red Dragon" in merchandise, credited as "Dragon" in Deep Tissue Memories, and labeled as "dragon" in Dragonshy's animation, but he is named in other media.

"To address worry that things would be too scary, I skewed the dragons kind of pretty at first. Might have been an interesting direction...."[1] "How do you know the dragons in the show WEREN'T female? ;)"[2]

A Maleficent[3]-based development sketch by Lauren Faust "for MLP:FiM 2008 pitch bible"[1] is among various pieces in the library of "007_c05_dragon" under "Critters" from "AssetsLicensor".

Razer shares his design with "Gostir", S02E21 Unnamed Dragon #10, and S02E21 Unnamed Dragon #11.

In the season one episode Dragonshy, Razer takes up residence in a cave atop a mountain near Ponyville, intending to begin a sleep that will result in a cloud of smoke covering Ponyville for a hundred years. The Mane Six travel up the mountain to confront him, but Twilight's logic, Rarity's charm, Pinkie Pie's silliness, and Rainbow Dash's attacks all fail to do anything but provoke him. Upon seeing her friends knocked down by the ferocious dragon, Fluttershy-who had previously been in terror of the dragon-flies up and rebukes the dragon for his conduct. Shamefaced, Razer complains that Rainbow Dash actually struck him a blow; Fluttershy apologizes but continues to admonish him for not considering creatures smaller than himself. Reduced to tears by Fluttershy's lecture, Razer agrees to depart after Fluttershy offers him some words of comfort.

Razer makes a second appearance in the the season two episode Dragon Quest, taking part in the Great Dragon Migration. Like many of the giant adult dragons, he lounges about on the heights of the volcanic crater where Spike arrives, taking no interest in the activities of the younger and smaller dragons.

Razer appears during one of Fluttershy's flashbacks in the season three episode, Magical Mystery Cure.

In the season five episode Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?, Razer appears briefly in Pinkie Pie's dreams.

In The Ending of the End - Part 2, Razer appears in the Dragon Lands when Smolder addresses the dragons, urging them to go to the aid of Equestria. He is later seen attending Twilight's coronation in The Last Problem.

Razer also appears in a flashback in Deep Tissue Memories, while Rainbow Dash is reminiscing about past adventures with Twilight.
