The Dragon is one of four boss creatures that appear in Ark: Survival Evolved. It also appears in the offshoot gamemode Survival of the Fittest as a tameable event creature.
Appearance[]
The Dragon is a massive creature with a fairly typical appearance of a scaly body adorned with many rows of spikes, and leathery wings. Most of it's body is faded purple in color.
Role[]
The Dragon is a unique life form on the Ark, located in a special volcanic arena. It takes considerable resources to activate the portal that takes inhabitants there, but if the beast is slain, the victors will be awarded with unique materials to make high-tech structures and gear.
The final boss of the game, the Overseer, will also assume a form that uses the dragon's body shape and abilities.
Abilities[]
The Dragon is also fairly typical in this regard, being capable of prolonged flight and being able to breath fire, relying fireballs when airborne and jets of flame on the ground. It also has a considerable bite force.
During Survival of the Fittest, the dragon can be tamed by feeding it high-quality meat. Afterwards, it can be ridden and controlled for a period of time.
