Hiccup Haddock[]
Hiccup
Hiccup is the protagonist in How to Train Your Dragon. He can’t kill dragons. He thinks that he was the first Viking that couldn’t kill a dragon but really his mother was the first as far as we can tell. He was the one to save the dragons and changed the life of both dragons and Vikings alike. Without him the dragons would be extinct. He has a romance with Astrid that begins in the first movie when he takes her for a flight and she kisses him. He is scrawnier than the other Vikings. My siblings and I believe he couldn’t kill dragons because his mom was kind to them and he got that kindness to dragons from her or Odin chose a different life for him than the other Vikings.
Astrid
Astrid Hofferson[]
Astrid Hofferson is a feisty and fierce fighter. She’s determined and rides a deadly nadder named Stormfly. She is Hiccup’s girlfriend. Her weapon is a battle axe and she is favored by Snotlout who is constantly trying to impress her (more on that later). She has trained her whole life to kill dragons and now she’s helping them. Astrid and Hiccup become engaged in the second movie they get married at the end of the third after hiding the dragons away from the world. They have two kids. Nuffink and Zephyr.
Ruffnut and Tuffnut
Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston[]
Snotlout
Tuffnut Thorston is a prankster who has dedicated his life to Loki the god of mischief. He has a twin sister named Ruffnut and a chicken named… well, Chicken. Ask him. He likes to cause mischief. His dragon is a zippleback named belch at least that’s the heads name. The other head is barf. He enjoys playing pranks on each other and they are usually the ones causing the laughter. Ruffnut is Tuffnut’s twin sister she rides the head named barf. She has three braids plus 2 more that stick out like horns. The twins, ruff and tuff, cause lots of mischief and not just together they also pull pranks on each other.
Snotlout[]
Snotlout is known for his haughty attitude and stubborn demeanor. He is usually saying: “Snotlout, Snotlout, oy, oy, oy.” He causes mischief with the twins. His dragon is a monstrous nightmare named Hookfang. He had a crush on Astrid in the first movie. Then heather in Dragons: Race to the Edge. And then on Hiccup’s mother, Valka.
